Thinking about Adoption?
There are currently around 66 children in Warrington,
Wigan and St.Helens who need forever families to help them
flourish.
Could you look after them? Dry their tears? Wash their muddy
Rugby kit? Teach them to ride a bike? Call them your own?
The three Local Authority adoption services have collaborated to
form WWiSH, in a bid to make the local adoption process more
efficient and to help overcome the nationally recognised shortage
of people wishing to adopt.
The service aims to pool resources and make the adoption process
more efficient and more effective through widening the pool of
prospective carers. This makes it easier and more likely to place
children with families best suited to their individual needs.

WWiSH also offers an enhanced Adoption Support Service which
supports adopters, adopted children and those adults who were
adopted as children. The innovative shared adoption service serves
all three Local Authorities and the wider area.
WWiSH is also part of Adoption22, a collaboration of the North
West Local Authority adoption agencies. Adoption 22 aims to help
agencies share resources and information, widening the pool of
carers even further and helping to achieve the best outcomes for
children and families.
This website aims to provide outline information about adopting
with WWiSH, but is by no means exhaustive. Our team can assist you
with any questions you may have, and if you proceed with an
adoption application, you will receive a wealth of additional
information.
